Kathryn graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy in 2018. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 2011, with a double major in Gender Studies and Communication Studies, and a Master of Public Health in 2016 from Memorial University. Kathryn has completed post-graduate courses in female urinary incontinence, chronic pain management, tempomandibular joint (TMJ) management, exercise prescription, and holds advanced certifications in functional dry needling. Her treatment style is education-based, hands-on, and her goal is to help her client’s achieve independence with their condition management. Kathryn’s education in public health has provided her with a unique perspective and has shaped how she practices physiotherapy. She specialized in health promotion and disease and injury prevention during her MPH, and applies this lens when practicing to promote the health and overall wellness of her clients and surrounding community.

Kelly Barnes is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador and also a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Registered Massage Therapists Association. She graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Toronto campus, as one of the top four academic students, receiving the Magna cum Laude, distinction.

Kelly is a believer in overall wellness and feels strongly that massage therapy has major benefits for the body, mind and soul. Kelly formulates a personalized treatment for the specific needs of each individual using a combination of fascial and muscle release, deep tissue, Swedish techniques, joint mobilization, trigger point therapy and facilitated stretching. In using this approach she helps alleviate specific symptoms, find the source of dysfunction and aims to educate clients on how to avoid injury in the future.

Kelly has also taken additional training in prenatal massage via the Trimesters: Perinatal Professional Development Course and has experience working with pregnant clients as well as brand new postpartum clients, Dry cupping, Pelvic Health for Manual Therapists, Kinesiology Taping and most recently Massage Therapy for Infants and Children.

Allison Dominic BSc, MScPT completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Biochemistry) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Throughout the course of her undergraduate degree, Allison grew an interest in the growing field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and went on to graduate from a Masters of Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2019. Allison has gained a wide variety of clinical skills through her experience working in many different rehabilitation settings within the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom and Canada. She puts an emphasis on patient-centered care and uses the most recent evidence-based research findings to ensure her patients are getting the quality of care they deserve. Allison provides a thorough assessment of individual’s symptoms in order to treat and rehabilitate the underlying cause, encouraging long-term recovery. Allison completed the course “The Physical Therapy Approach to Female Urinary Incontinence” offered by Urosante where she gained the knowledge and hands on skills to internally evaluate the female pelvic floor, establish and perform a treatment plan with progressions and use manual and behavioral techniques to treat pelvic floor conditions. Outside of work, Allison has been involved in the province’s sports community from a young age and continues to work as a competitive level coach and Director of Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation at Cygnus Gymnastics. She enjoys travel, fitness and sports, and spending time with family and friends. Allison is passionate about pelvic health physiotherapy and helping her patients to take control of their health and wellbeing. She is eager to continue to learn and grow in the emerging field of pelvic health physiotherapy with the team at Vitality Wellness.

Candace is a registered social worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Memorial University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia. She has been working in the field of mental health and addictions for several years, but has developed a specific interest in working in the field of women’s health and sexual health. Her goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where individuals can work through the challenges they are facing as she has noticed that healthcare systems often fail to monitor and address issues such as sexual dysfunction, postpartum depression, and miscarriage grief and loss. Her therapeutic work has largely been focused on working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and other social issues. Candace uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and feminist approach to therapy that borrows components from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialetical Behavioural Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She is passionate about destigmatizing women’s health issues, promoting sexual wellbeing, and exploring the nuanced aspects of mental health.

In addition to Candace’s passion for women’s health, she is passionate about accessible and affordable housing. She works as a Program Manager for a Supportive Housing Program in the city. Kyla Layton, BSc, MPT, ResPT completed a Specialized Honours Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University in 2022. Prior to and throughout her university education, Kyla taught Yoga and Pilates while working closely with physiotherapy patients, fostering her passion for using movement as medicine. She then completed a Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Although new to Newfoundland, Kyla is excited to join the advancing pelvic health physiotherapy services in the province. She is a passionate advocate for equitable health care, deeply committed to addressing gender inequality and health disparities that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. Kyla strives to ensure that all women, non-binary, and gender diverse populations have access to the healthcare they deserve. Her treatment style is holistic, focusing not just on the pelvic floor in isolation but on the entire individual as a physically active person.  Kyla has completed level 1 and 2 pelvic health training from Pelvic Health Solutions and is trained in treating urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic and low back pain, and prenatal and postnatal care. Kyla continuously seeks further education, particularly from a trauma-informed care perspective. She has extensive experience teaching pre and post-natal yoga, yin/hatha/vinyasa yoga, restorative yoga, Pilates, and barre. Stacey graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Eastern Academy in 2018. She is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) as well as the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA).

She was born and raised in St. John’s, NL and comes from an athletic background of being a competitive cheerleading for 14 years. She also has a love for soccer, hiking and going to the gym.

Carolyn Pridham graduated in 2015 from Dalhousie University with her Masters in Physiotherapy. After graduation, Carolyn focused her career in the area of pelvic health by completing many post-graduate courses. With this extensive training, Carolyn is able to treat many forms of pelvic floor dysfunction that include urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, coccydynia, pregnancy related low back and hip pain, diastasis recti and constipation. She is also trained to asses and treat many breast feeding related conditions. Carolyn often volunteers with local pregnancy and post-natal community groups to help spread awareness on post partum recovery for women after childbirth.

Christina graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland in 2016. Prior to this she completed a Bachelors of Kinesiology, Honours degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Christina’s passion for pelvic health physiotherapy was first sparked after working in a maternity & gynecology hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. She is dedicated to treating and caring for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction including bladder and bowel issues, pelvic organ prolapse, persistent pelvic pain and sexual activity related pain. Christina is also committed to treating pre and postpartum specific concerns, such as Diastasis Rectus Abdominus Muscles (DRA), pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions and exercising in the pre and postpartum period. Christina is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and its Women’s Health Division. Christina’s approach to pelvic health physiotherapy is focused around patient empowerment and education in which patients are at the center of their treatment plan and goal setting. Born in Central Newfoundland but raised in Conception Bay South, Bailey has been providing Physiotherapy services to her hometown and surrounding areas over the past number of years. ​ She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with Honours at Memorial University in 2017. After MUN, Bailey went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax in 2019. She has remained committed to furthering her education and has completed several additional courses including the Physiotherapy Approach to Female Urinary Incontinence through Uro Santé. Bailey has a passion for helping people, and prides herself in providing patient centered care that is driven by the latest evidence-based research.
